Iran Exports 31 bln USD Worth of Non-oil Goods in 9 Months: Official

An Iranian customs official said the Islamic republic exported about 31 billion U.S. dollars worth of non-oil goods during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (starting on March 20), Press TV reported Sunday.

During the nine month, Iran's trade volume of non-oil goods with other countries was about 71.2 billion dollars, including some 31 billion dollars of exports and approximately 40.2 billion dollars worth of imports, Iran's Customs Administration Director Abbas Me'marnejad was quoted as saying.

The official added that Iron and steel ingots, wheat, corn fodder and soybean meal were the main commodities imported, while liquefied propane, urea and cement were the main goods exported, according to the report.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE), China, Turkey, South Korea and Switzerland were the leading exporters of non-oil products to Iran, he said, adding that Iraq, China, the UAE, Afghanistan and India were the main importers of Iranian non-oil goods.
